A really simple to use moisture meter which has 2 hardened steel pins. You simply press the moisture meter pins against the wood (or other material) to be measured to obtain a reading of moisture content on the LCD screen. The pins are protected by a cover when not in use to for your protection.
Using a Wood Moisture Meter is essential, in particular when using with wood burning ovens. High moisture content can cause smoke, inefficient burning and difficulties in lighting the fire.
The moisture meter can be used to check the wood prior to splitting or cutting and also when you have split it - to check the internal moisture content of the logs.
